Job requirements
Role overview
As an art director, you’ll report to the creative director and support the creative aspirations of the agency. Leading projects end-to-end, you’ll collaborate with the strategy team, designers, copywriters, and developers to deliver stand-out concepts that span web and brand. Your role involves crafting compelling visual narratives and confidently presenting to clients.
An essential part of the role is immersing yourself in our client’s brand and objectives, ensuring alignment with their marketing strategies, audience, and positioning. From initial scamps and storyboards to full concepts, you’ll create inspiring visual stories that capture and engage.
Experience with brand and campaign work in an agency setting is essential. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is required, and familiarity with Figma is a plus but not mandatory.
Key responsibilities
Creative direction: Work in tandem with the creative director to guide and refine the artistic vision for branding, campaigns and projects. Engage with clients, account managers, and stakeholders to understand project goals, translating them into visually impactful concepts.
Visual strategy: Develop and implement cohesive visual strategies that reflect our client’s identity and objectives. From ideation through to delivery, you’ll ensure all elements are executed to the highest standard.
Team mentor: Inspire and guide the creative team with constructive feedback, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages excellence.
Creative execution: Oversee the delivery of creative projects, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality visuals.
Collaboration: Work closely with copywriters, account managers, designers, and developers to ensure seamless integration of creative concepts. Strong communication and collaboration skills are key.
Trend monitoring and innovation: Stay informed on current design trends, emerging technology, and best practices to infuse fresh ideas that push creative boundaries.
Client relationship management: Build strong client relationships by understanding their objectives and presenting creative concepts with clarity. Gather feedback and make necessary revisions while staying true to project goals.
Quality control: Maintain high standards across the creative process by reviewing work meticulously and providing actionable feedback when needed.
Budget and resource management: Optimise resource allocation, managing creative budgets to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
Industry awareness: Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and design achievements. Participate in industry events and networks to remain at the forefront of the creative field.
